[Elsewhere] Generalist Tech Artist (Senior and Above)

We’re looking for a Generalist Technical Artist to join us at Elsewhere Entertainment in Malmo, Sweden or Warsaw, Poland or for very senior candidates WFH within European time zones. You can reach out to me directly, if interested.

You’ll help us by…

  • Supporting and improving content creation tools and workflows for our art team, including shaders, materials, rigging, animation, texturing, visual effects, lighting, and UI.

  • Collaborating with artists and engineers to deliver innovative solutions that will help artists develop epic visual content.

  • Maintain and improve multiple aspects of technical asset production: re-use, content density, performance, storage/memory requirements, etc.

  • Anticipating challenges and risks and implementing innovative and preventative solutions.

You’re awesome because you have…

  • 4+ years of professional experience in the games industry working in technical art or closely related areas.

  • Experience developing tools and pipelines for game content production.

  • Experience with DCC tools (Maya, Blender, etc.)

  • Comprehensive understanding of one or more scripting languages: Python, JavaScript, VEX, etc.

  • In-depth knowledge of memory and performance impact from a content creation perspective.

  • Experience writing and/or debugging shaders.

  • Understanding of Physically Based Rendering systems and techniques.

  • In-depth understanding of game engines, pipelines, and processes.

  • Creativity in problem solving and a positive, respectful team-first attitude.

  • Organization methods and the capability to meet agreed timelines.

Bonus points for…

  • Experience working on AAA titles. Special preference for shipped titles with high visual fidelity and/or large content variety.

  • Proven leadership or managerial experience.

  • Knowledge of Niagara (Unreal) or VFX Graph (Unity).

  • Experience with Houdini or other procedural or simulation software.

  • Experience with machine learning.

  • Experience with OpenUSD, MaterialX and similar technologies.

  • Experience working with consoles.

  • Enjoyment of playing a variety of video game genres and titles.

I’m not sure what you meant by reaching out to you directly, so I’ve applied on the website you linked. I’m also interested in the other jobs you posted.

I should mention that I’ve worked exclusively with the unreal engine for the past 8 years, all my know how is tied up in it. I wouldn’t mind having to learn a new engine though it would likely take some time getting used to it.

I’m form Hungary but I wouldn’t mind having to relocate somewhere else within the European Union for a few years.
