We’re looking for a freelance Pipeline TD or render farm specialist to set up and configure Afanasy (CGRU) for a small CG studio running Windows machines.
Studio setup:
- 1 dedicated Afanasy server
- 4 render nodes
- 4 artist workstations
- All machines on Windows 10/11
- Shared NAS storage already accessible from all machines
DCC integrations required:
- Cinema 4D 2026 + Redshift
- Houdini 21 + Redshift
- Houdini 21 + Mantra
- Houdini 21 + Arnold
- NukeX
- Adobe After Effects
What needs to be configured:
- Afanasy server + render client setup on all machines
- Job submission from all listed DCCs
- Frame preview thumbnails visible in AfWatch during render
- Node work modes:
— Free (available for all jobs)
— Nimby soft (renders only owner’s jobs)
— Nimby hard (not rendering at all) - Shared NAS as unified project storage path for all nodes
- Ongoing support: adding new render nodes as new machines are built
Nice to have:
- Experience with other render farm managers (Deadline, Royal Render, Tractor) is fine — Afanasy knowledge preferred but not strictly required if you’re confident you can learn it
Engagement:
