In Houdini can transfer attributes from one object to another or even group points inside another object. Is there a way to do something similar in Maya. Essentially trying to select faces or verts on high res area based on low res geo for that area.
Maya has a transfer attributes tool in the Mesh submenus, but I don’t think it does what you describe… It sounds like you want to transfer a selection between objects…selection state is not a Maya attribute
I haven’t used maya for a while, but I think you should be able to find some stuff online with “maya bifrost transfer attribute”. It should work in uv space or in 3d space with a ray cast.
