We’ve been bouncing assets between Maya and Blender quite a bit lately.
The workflow usually ended up being:

Import into the other DCC

Check pivots
-
Check hierarchy
-
Check materials
-
Fix whatever broke
To reduce the repetitive steps, I built a small Maya / Blender bridge called Flux.
