Hello every one, I am trying to become a technical artist but the school I wanted to go to ( Art Institute of hollywood ) was so expensive I would have had to pay 16,000 out of my own pocket every year , so thats out now lol. My question are there any good schools that offer technical artist training?
If you don’t mind going international then this is a great option. The focus of the school is technical artist.
It is also less expensive then those schools in America.
I would be like 6500 euro.
You can always send me a pm if you want to some information. I am student there that is going to his third/last year.
Thank you
I don’t mind international schools , I actually wanted to go to school in Portugal before so I would love Europe :D:
Are there many international students there?
Well it is the first year they go international. They study only exists for four year.
Yea well theres only like 3 schools on the planet that have any courses specifically for Technical Artists lol
I have Rosetta stone I don’t mind learning Dutch
How is Belgium?
WHat do you wanne know about Belgium? It is not big, but some awesome cities. Like Leuven, Bruge, Bruxelle, Gent. Lots of stuff to do for students. But if you would study DAE, you will be working a lot, hehe
If you have specific questions about Belgium you can always send me a pm and I would be happy to talk with you about it.
Greetz
No one else knows any other schools?
Lol, I will reply again.
:D:
Thanks lol , I actually want to go there but by the time I get a visa this years classes would have already started.
What are you majoring in the art or game design / programming?
I do 3darts. But I am also going to do the gamedevtrack. That is only one year extra.
That extra year is not official yet. But it is coming.
They also have plans for a Master track. In belgium you first have to do a bachelor (3 years) and then a Master (if you want). But no informations yet about it.
I was actually wondering about doing that too, i wanna major in both lol
It first was everything in one course. But that was way to hard for most of the people. There were only 17 students who passed the first year of the 240. So they split it up and made the first year a bit easier. That sucked for me because I wanted to do the whole thing.
Yes so I’m thinking about doing animation & graphic game programing associates here at a local college and then after that I’ll go get my bachelor @ Howest
But yes I agree I want to learn it all :):

We’ve recently hired Champlain grads for QA, Tech Art, Art, etc. They seem to have a very good program. I like the fact that after you graduate you can be selected (based on merit/grades) to work in a small dev team on an actual prototype. We’ve had great sucess with hiring people from that program.
Full Sail may be an option too, I think the cost is higher, but you can complete the program in a shorter amount of time.
Full Sail is really good and Rigging Dojo is just awesome i wish to learn from rigging dojo after i start some earning because i dnt think my dad is going to give me more pocketmoney

Thanks for the nice comment Ankit about Rigging Dojo, but as much as we would like to offer a full program we can’t replace a well rounded full education. We can help push you and can help in many other ways but the great thing about the Tech Art community is how many diverse backgrounds and educations can lead to a tech art position.
Keep your mind open to places like https://cs.byu.edu/animation and http://vvvvvv.viz.tamu.edu/ for example and even if you don’t /can;t go there look over their programs and requirements and use that as research on what ever school you do go to.
Thanks for links and i don’t know what school i am going to join but in future i would join rigging dojo that’s for sure.
