Autodesk released the Bifrost Board. Its a node graph to create all kind of magic.
Its similar to Softimage ICE or Fabric Engine. The initial release does come with an MPM solver. But the real magic are the smaller nodes for visual programming.
So is Bifrost just for creating effects or could it also be used for “regular” maya work? Like for example doing shading, referencing or maybe even set up render layers.
Would be nice to get a replacement for the node editor
Only time will tell what we get in the long run. But the next “Hypershade” is based on Bifrost tech. Its called LookdevX. Next on the Bifrost roadmap are 3D fields and volumetric modeling.
