Hello Fellas,
I am working with Mobu 2024 and I am experiencing buggy behavior from character extensions when I merge a file into a scene using a namespace.
The culprit seems to be the namespace itself, because the problem arises also when I assign it after the merging.
The problem doesn’t arise during the Mobu session where I perform the merging. Instead it pops up when I open the scene with the merged file in a new session (E.G. the day after or when the animator get the scene from P4)
Here follows a breakdown of the case at hand:
- I have a scene with a HIK rig with extensions built manually following the documentation.
- Extensions work fine:
- in the original file where they have been created
- when merging the file in a new scene without any namespace
- Extensions break: when I merge the file in a scene under a namepsace, save the scene, close Mobu and open the same scene in a new Mobu session
- What it happens:
- TPose button in the “character controls” panel ignores the extensions
- Poses created in the merged file are ignored
- Mirroring of new poses created after closing the session in which I merged the file paste fine BUT the mirroring is buggy (that might be due to the requirement of certain setup that is not documented, I tried some though and none behaves as expected)
- What did I try:
- Parent the extensions controller under the “Reference” HIK node, rather the FK controller they sensibly belong to.
- Remove any dependency from the HIK FK controllers (using the skeleton instead)
- Swap to the 2016 HIK Solver
Did any of you experienced the same problem? Is there any built-in-based workaround/solution? I am actually considering of writing my own pose tool, since at least full and body part keying are still working with the extensions.
Thanks in advance for any input and advice.
