Why I failed in reading XML files?

I used readValue (MXS) reading in XML files , but I always get a Error Exception when readValue read tag like “<object>” which includes “<” or “>”

my code :
in_name = getOpenFileName()

if in_name != undefined	 then
(
	  
	  in_file = openFile in_name
	 
	  

	  if in_file != undefined then

	  (
		   readValue in_file

	  )
  )
  close in_file

my XML file content :
<object> name </object>

readValue is for MXS values- MXS has no concept of XML. You should take a look at .NET for reading XML files.
