Various Artists Required for PS4 Game - Industry Experience Not Essential

Hi I would have liked to contribute more before posting this but when you run a studio, time is of the essence.

Looking for artists of various degrees of skills and experience (Game industry experience not required)

As an existing PlayStation 4 developer with released product we have commenced working on our next console project. The unannounced title is a third-person futuristic sci-fi 3D action adventure. Unlike many small studios (and larger ones) we use our own proprietary engine and publishing tools, which allow team members to work from anywhere in the world. Knowledge of third party engines IS NOT REQUIRED or even needed.
The art style is planned to be clean, bright and semi-cartoony. Depending on the mix of talent we hire this could change to better suit our team’s abilities - so please don’t be turned away by the art style if you feel your style can contribute.

Our team members work in multiple disciplines and the need to be flexible is paramount.
We are looking for people to work remotely in the following areas. If you are involved in other areas, please feel free to contact us as we may find a fit for you! Some of these roles may turn to full time in house (or remote) but we don’t want that to be the reason you apply.

**Edit - Technical Shader guys & gals - if you have had experience with PlayStation shaders, I would love to hear from you!

Character Artists
Low to medium detail level character models. Most are mainly robotic & hard surface with a few organic or hybrid organic-hard surface characters.

Environment / Prop artists
Environmental art to create the sci-fi levels as well as props and other in-game elements. Ability to texture for next-gen games a must.

Texture Artists
Creating textures for various level models, tiling textures and reusable atlas maps.

Character Riggers
Character & other objects to be rigged for animation via traditional keyframe and mocap animation systems. Standardized rigging for playable characters, attachment points, callback positioning etc.
Our team primarily work in Max but the option to rig in Maya exists.

Animators
Currently we don’t require animators but we are always on the hunt for great animators. Working with both keyframe and mocap animations in either Maya or Max. Experience with motion builder and actual motion capture technology is always a plus!

Internships
This program is planned to begin in the coming months but if you live in San Diego or surrounding areas and you are interested in a paid internship, please email us. You must be either a graduate or currently studying in the area you wish to intern for. We plan to do remote internships in the future.
All interns will be credited in our games for work they do for our games.

Submission
• Email through three portfolio pieces you feel are the most compelling for this project.
• The position or area(s) you are most comfortable
• The country you reside in
• Your salary expectations

You can email or message me through tech-artist or directly via email a.hodgetts@happydancegames.com
