UK Technical Art opportunities

I am relatively new to this forum but see it as a great way for the industries technical people to share knowledge, exhange ideas and stay in contact.

I work for a games industry recruitment company(www.aswift.com) and specialise in any Art roles, I find it particularly challenging to find Technial Artists with the required technical knowledge. I am hoping this site will help. :):

I would like to hear from anybody who is willing to hear about opportunities within the games industry in the UK (either contract or permanent).

We work with some of the industries biggest companies including EA, Microsoft, SCEE & Ubisoft amongst others. I am sure that some of the roles we have could prove to be tempting.

I am thinking I could perhaps then produce perhaps a weekly(or monthly newsletter) to be emailed to you guys. That way you can see what is out there and decide what is interesting.

Please reply to this thread if you’d like to hear more, or alternatively mail me on dan@aswift.com.

Are you interested in students for internships? I am a student in a gamedesignschool in Belgium where there are a lot of technical artist. My school is always looking for contacts. So if you want, I can bring you in contact with the right people.

Hey, unfortunately studios do not tend to use recruitment companies for internships. This is becasue they have no trouble getting a response directly.

My advice would be to contact studios yourself, but by participating in forums such as Tech-Artists you are showing you have a passion for the industry, I am sure you will have no problem finding a role. :):

Hi Dan, I am a Technical Artist from India. I am interested and would like to know more.

Alright. Thanks for the fast response.

I was in contact with Dan after Grin went belly up last year. It didn’t lead to a job through him (I was talking to about 10-12 recruiters at the same time) but he provided me with good feedback and found me some potential employers quite fast. :):
