There was a lamp post that had separated from its base lying on the ground in front of an office. Many times each day, an employee would knock it over, then pick it up and place it on the base; another employee later on would knock it over and immediately pick it up again, such that no one knew it was broken until he had knocked it over the first time, and those who had already knocked it over forgot it was broken, even though they toppled and raised the lamp post many times. Eventually, someone decided to lay the broken lamp post on the ground whenever he saw it standing, and soon after it was fixed.
