Technical Artist

Responsibilities
• Diagnose and solve technical problems related to art assets
• Answer technical questions from artists
• Help artists to optimize their workflow
• Communicate technical problems to engineering
• Help design achieve their goals in data
• Help identify and design new art tools
• Maintain wiki technical art documentation

Requirements
• Prior professional game development experience
• Should know 3dsmax inside and out, its strengths and its quirks
• Working knowledge of maxscript (or Maya’s MEL)
• Strong understanding of animation systems
• Strong communication skills, with both non-technical artists, and engineers
• Strong analytical approach to problem solving
• Quick to learn new skills and pass those skills onto others
• Experience writing shaders (cG, HLSL etc.)

Desired:
• Working knowledge of web technologies (html, php, mySQL, javascript…)
• Working knowledge of scripting languages (perl, python…)
• Experience and interest in designing art pipelines
• Console game development experience
• Strong art skills and portfolio
• Ability to provide quality critiques
• A passion for game development

This job is a full-time, on-site position. Compensation is dependent on skill, experience and salary history. Please, no contractors or phone calls.
