copies/pastes advert text
A rare opportunity has arisen in a central London studio for a highly competent Technical Artist to join one of the biggest names in the business famed for innovative and original work.
The successful candidate will be a highly skilled artist who has worked on at least two PS3 OR X360 titles as either an Artist or Tech Artist.
3DStudio Max is the preferred package; the role will also require a strong command of MaxScript. If the role was sounding good until then and you are typically a Maya/MEL user, don’t panic, we’d still love to receive your application if you have the right experience level along with the ability & willing to learn and work with Max.
This successful candidate will play a key role by interfacing between the main art team and the programming function. The role will primarily consist of developing, maintaining and expanding the art tool chain. You will be a competent enough programmer to elevate a sizable share of art tool improvement and maintenance tasks from the programming team. You will also play a very important role in developing art assets for projects, in addition to helping other members of the art team learn your technical wizardry.
Required:
· Worked on at least two shipped current generation titles
· Knows 3DSM & MaxScript/Maya & MEL like the back of your hand
· Competent all round artist, character & environment (modeling, shading etc)
· An open mind to work on some innovative and unique titles
Advantageous:
· Command of other relevant programming languages i.e. C++, Lua, Python, Perl
· Already based in London or surround, authorised to work in the UK.
Please send application including an up to date CV, a link to an online hosted portfolio or a .zip/.rar file under 10mb to patrick.kennedy@idealpeople.net. A brief explanation of why the position appeals to you and what you can bring to the table always helps too.
Thanks for reading!
