Io-Interactive is currently looking for a full-time technical animator to join an unannounced AAA game project.

We are prepared to accept applications from the very best talent from around the world and offer relocation packages in order to secure the right candidate for this role.

As an integral part of the animation and technical art team, you will collaborate with cross disciplinary team members to execute the overall creative vision for animation of the project. You will be working with game designers, artists, animators and programmers, working out technical setups and creating pipelines for animation and character related content.

Your goal is to support the animation team in producing and integrating animation content setting new standards for animation in games.

Basic Roles and Responsibilities
Be a part of the technical art team working with artists, designers, programmers and animators to ensure outstanding character animation properly fitting the game design requirements
Assist in the design and development of animation and character art tools and the pipelines required to setup and animate game characters
Work with character artists ensuring that game models are made to meet technical and animation quality requirements
Making scripts (e.g. in Python/MaxScript/MEL) or working with programmers doing so fleshing out desired functionality e.g. for batch-processing the character animation assets and setups
Assist character artist with skinning and rigging of characters, including setups for facial animation
Create and maintain documentation on best practices working with IOI’s current tool set
Help define work flows, structures and the organization of animation related content
Deliver content within quality, schedule and technical limitations

Required Skills
Accomplished technical animator with experience working in the video games industry having produced work for at least one published title
Experience with rigging and skinning
Understanding of human anatomy
Analytically minded and organized
Experienced in one or more 3D applications (Motion Builder, Maya, 3dsMax)
Programming and tool development experience with languages like Python, MaxScript, C# and libraries/modules like MotionBuilder SDK, Maya Commands, OpenMaya, 3dsMax SDK, PyQt, Perforce API
Ability to look past immediate technical constraints and work solution oriented
Ability to respond elegantly to difficult creative changes, often late in the process
Self-motivated towards solving creative problems
Excellent written and oral communications skills in English
A passion for video games is mandatory
