Technical Artist - Job Description

Technical Environment Artist responsible for performance, optimization, and maintaining walkthrough for run time environments. Responsibilities include checking daily builds, reporting issues back to the team and working closely with Devs, Designers and Artists to maintain environments and provide quality assurance as well as generating assets, textures, materials and environments for run time.

Qualifications

Two years professional experience working with game environments preferred. Experience using proprietary technology on game consoles preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Design, Computer Science or Architecture preferred. Experience with Autodesk Maya required. Experience with Photoshop, or similar 2D art packages required. Experience with ZBrush preferred.

Artist must have strong knowledge of modern game asset development principles and techniques, strong technical mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to real time environments and assets. Artist should have strong time management and communication skills. Position requires communicating with artists and devs at all levels. Excellent high and low polygon modeling skills preferred. Strong painting and texturing skills preferred. The ability to quickly grasp new technical concepts required.

Start Date: Jan, Feb, Mar start dates

End Date: 12/31/11

Status: Vendor (V-) contract

Sits: Onsite full time (this role requires contractors to work onsite, and there is no relocation packages offered by client)
