so, lately i’ve been playin with some mocap data within MB 2015 and I wanted to retarget the motion from the mocap skeleton to the skeleton i created in Maya using HIK.
However, seems to me that i cannot get the reference ( of the HIK ) to follow the Root bone of the SOURCE ( Mocap data skeleton ). It just stays in the centre of scene the whole time while the root bone of the ‘’ source ‘’ moves with the rest of the skeleton, even though both skeletons were correctly defined within Motion Builder. is there a way to manually ‘’ make ‘’ root of the target follow the root of the source ?

HAve same issue,
in HumanIK Skeleton defenition turn on “Hips translation” this will create bone which is behave as root. Move this bole in 0 0 0 as on your skeleton
Next don`t forget in Edit/Defenitions/HIK Properties change hips translation mode to trajectory.
then drag and drop your new root out of character reference node, so after export this new bone will be the root.
