Spline twist/normal

Hey guys!

I already posted this on cgsociety, but no answers. :frowning:
Maybe you can help me with this.

Situation: several hundret splines, which have a path deformed geometry attached to them.
The problem is that the rotation around the spline axis is rather arbitrary, so I want to set it via script by making the normal of the spline point towards a certain direction.
I could set the rotation value of the path deform modifier, but since I don’t know the original orientation of the path, I don’t know which value I need to set.

Is there a way to get/set the normal of a spline?

I’m not 100% sure I understand what you’re asking, but based on what I think you’re looking for, it sounds very similar to a ribbon modeling node I recently released free on my website. If this is in fact the case, the basic process is something like:

  1. You can evaluate the tangent of your spline at any param value
  2. Choose some world-space axis to be your normal facing direction
  3. Cross-product of these forms a right axis
  4. Cross-product of your tangent and computed right axis should give you the normal you desire.

So it is lucid to me that this competition (and ulterior Lineage 2 Adena tournaments) really requirement to shuffling the performing ornament and act incorporating teams from the TR that are doing wellspring rather than teams from one gathering, one increase mob ago to get Lineage 2 Adena .
