Siggraph 2009

Just wondering who’s going to Siggraph this year and whether we should organize a beer night / get together… getting close and booking tickets as we speak :D::D::D:

I maaay…the main reason i wanted to go was for the Masterclasses. Since the company isn’t into paying for trips of that nature and the masterclasses have been cancelled i’m not sure i have quite the incentive to drop the cash on siggraph anymore:(:

Yeah I spoke to Cory yesterday, sounds like a lot of the Autodesk stuff is being scaled down. I don’t think they’ll be any parties on Aircraft Carriers this year… but hey, it’s New Orleans!

I might make it there as well for a couple days was looking forward to the master classes also to bad :(:

Huge bummer on the masterclasses, but I’m still gonna try to make it this year the company has the budget for it.

anyone know if they will be reintroducing the masterclasses in years to come? That was really the only reason for me to go to siggraph. (Aside from all the parties)

Not sure really, sounds like they want to go more for on-line training. I was looking forward to Chad’s PyMel one this year.

I also wonder if they’ll be a Maya and Soft party this year or just one big (or not so big) Autodesk party. The Softimage parties were always way better!

Maybe Chad can just do a the class anyway, ustream it or put it up on LULU, it could have been a great resource.

Chad mentioned that he’s planning on doing an online version of the class through Autodesk sometime. Good news!
