Shotgun For Games

Recently saw the Shotgun For Games video - http://blog.shotgunsoftware.com/2013/08/shotgun-for-games.html
Looked into their Pipeline Toolkit - http://www.shotgunsoftware.com/developers/

I am curious if anyone out there has worked with Shotgun before?
Event stream seems powerful, but I would love to hear some real world feedback about it.

Does it do task tracking and Project planning as well or better than Hansoft?

Thanks to anyone that has some input.

I use to work in Film/Animation where it was heavily used and I have a love hate relationship with it.

It does a very good job at managing assets if you set it up properly . I do not particularly like the HTML5 interface because its slow to load anything. I would just use the Python API and write a PySide UI for it (or multiple ones).

I’m thinking about using it now for a current project because it recently shotgun released some perforce integration with it, however I have some misgivings off the bat because it does a “sync”. Depending on how it does a “sync” I may continue to use it because I’m afraid of things going out of a sync.

That was an old post to reply to heh. Keep in mind that Shotgun has just been aquired by Autodesk…whatever that means to you.

Cheers,
Thorsten
