Secret Identity Studios - Technical Animator

SID is the studio making Marvel Universe. We are located on the peninsula in the Bay Area (about 45 minutes south of San Francisco.) The location is gorgeous, the team is hilarious, and the project is crazy fun. We need a self-motivated technical animator. The basic description is below:

Job Description:
o Work closely with the Animation Lead developing, defining and maintaining high-end animation pipelines and rigging solutions.
o Rig all characters and props in the game.
o Set up all ragdolls and clothing objects in the game.
o Set up and tweak in-game ik solutions
o Create and maintain pipeline tools
o Proactively solve problems or game bugs.
o Work with team members of other disciplines. Such as, communicating with game-play programmers for implementing character mechanics.

Qualifications:
o Associates degree in Computer Graphics, CS, or Animation. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
o 2 to 5 years technical animation experience shipping at least 2 commercial titles with emphasis on technical animation.
o Expertise rigging in 3D Software, preferably Maya.
o Solid understanding of setting up ragdolls, physics, or cloth objects
o Solid understanding of animation pipeline creation and maintenance.
o Solid understanding of additive animation and bone masking
o Solid understanding of animation trees.
o Solid scripting knowledge for tools and rig generation, python experience strongly preferred.
o Must be task driven, self-motivated & proactive.
o Must adapt to changing requirements.
o Must adapt to a preexisting pipeline
