Seattle Motion Capture Studios

Are there any? Even private ones? Just curious what people know.

On the east side, in Redmond, Digital Double (http://www.digitaldouble.net/) has a tracker-less motion capture system. However, I don’t know the details of it other than it exists and that it’s available to public at daily or hourly rates.

Yeah, we’ve looked at them. I’m looking for a full large scale stage with high quality optical/audio/video capability. I just don’t think there are any around here.

Does MS or Nintendo have internal mocap solutions at all? I’ve never heard of any.

I do believe Zombie has one in downtown Seattle.

Bungie has their own studio and i’ve heard rumors that we have one somewhere in all of MGS, but that’s about all i know. I can do some digging if you’re interested.

That’d be great Seth, thanks. How big is the Bungie Studio? I’m assuming it’s only for internal work also.

Monolith has one in-house in Kirkland, also.

Maybe I need to open one up out there…

Great thread!!
Here’s a vid featuring raw data from our mocap studio in Redmond:

We recently got a set of upgrades that rendered the accuracy of our equipment superior to that of a marker based system. Our technology captures movement from the core of the body and not from the surface. Check us out on the first Wednesday of every month from 6-8pm.

cheers!

What system do you guys use? Proprietary? Organic Motion? Inertia-based?
