General Description

Robot Entertainment, the independent developer of Orcs Must Die! and Hero Academy is looking for an experienced and talented Technical Artist to join its staff. This individual will be instrumental in rigging and skinning a variety of complex character and creature models for animation, and implementing game content for player consumption.

Required Skills & Experience

[ul]
[li]Has experience rigging for video games using Autodesk Maya
[/li][li]Possesses basic animation knowledge, with proven ability to rig and skin a variety of models
[/li][li]Demonstrates a strong artistic eye regarding human anatomy and realistic range of motion
[/li][li]Detail oriented, capable of accurately interpreting and manipulating large amounts of data
[/li][li]Able to clearly relay technical information between multiple disciplines and departments
[/li][li]Understands the entire process of creating game art from authoring to implementation
[/li][li]Able to interpret raw art assets to guide in the creation process using current limitations of game engines, exporters, and transport formats
[/li][/ul]

Desirable Skills & Experience

[ul]
[li]Development experience with art pipelines that support Unreal Engine3
[/li][li]Authoring experience using 3D Studio Max, ZBrush, and Photoshop
[/li][li]Ability to develop pipeline tools using PyCharm, SublimeText , Python, MEL, and Maya API.
[/li][li]Knowledge of MaxScript, JavaScript, C#, and .NET
[/li][li]Comfortable using various data formats such as XML, JSON, reStucturedText, CSS, HTML, SQL
[/li][li]Have the ability to write and debug 3D shaders
[/li][/ul]

[/li][li]Will proactively enhance the art pipeline to remove problems and inefficiencies
[/li][li]Has a passion for video games and a solid understanding of game development
[/li][/ul]
