I am currently rigging a character in maya that has fur. I was wondering if there was anything I should know about how the fur will deform (or will not deform or any headaches I will potentially run into before I get into skinning. Do I have to bake the fur before I skin? Also, what’s the best way to turn the fur on and off? I currently have it on a separate layer so it doesn’t get in my way when I’m working in the interface. This works well, but I’d love to hear some other options. This is my first time using fur on something that moves, any help is appreciated. Thanks!
