A programmer here is creating some fx shaders in FX Composer for use both in 3dsmax and our PC rendering engine, but she’s finding it cumbersome to reload the shader in Max.
It seems Max 2008 will only reload a saved FX file if she pastes the file into its folder, then presses the Reload button. Simply saving a new file overtop the old one doesn’t initiate the reload, pasting the file does.
that should work, it normally reloads a .fx file when it has been updated (unless its an included fx file in another fx file maybe). Maybe fx composer does something weird when it saves the .fx?
Maybe you could use some software that when a file updates it copys it to another folder. I’ve seen something like this on lifehacker. Not an ideal solution though
