Technical Animator/Rigger - Raven
Description
RAVEN SOFTWARE, developer of numerous award-winning games, including contributions to the blockbuster Call of Duty franchise [Call of Duty: Online, Advanced Warfare, Ghosts, Black Ops, Modern Warfare] is looking for a talented and passionate Technical Animator/Rigger to join our talented team as we continue to develop the best gameplay experiences in the industry.

As a Technical Animator/Rigger you will work alongside and support the Animators to ensure that the Animation Team has the rigs, tools and pipeline needed to operate an efficient production pipeline.

You must be able to thrive in a challenging environment, with an aptitude for critical thinking and analysis, boundless creativity, a good visual aesthetic and, with a deep passion for playing videogames. Experience in first-person shooter (FPS) games and extensive knowledge of the Call of Duty games is a huge plus.

Responsibilities:
• Designs, develops, implements and manages specific tools to assist Animators and Motion Capture teams to work efficiently
• Work to improve existing pipelines and develop new tools to expedite the animation and rig creation process
• Working with MEL/Python scripts to automate the character animation process
• Tool development in Max, Maya, MotionBuilder, and C++
• Create and implementing efficient character/weapon/vehicle/prop rigs for the project
• Edit and improve existing character animation systems, including facial setups and animation transfer tools
• Create and maintain documentation for tools, techniques and work flows
• Assist the animation, character and programming teams in troubleshooting setup and animation problems as they arise

Requirements:
• Computer Programming/Scripting experience (e.g. C#,C++, MEL, Python, Etc…)
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or two to four years related experience and/or training
• Experience developing tools for Max, Maya, and/or MotionBuilder
• Experience developing rigs for Max, Maya, and/or MotionBuilder
• Good understanding of skin weight painting and skin deformation
• Can quickly learn and master new tools, processes and pipelines
• Good understanding of game engine requirements and rig parameters for game engines
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with other disciplines and departments
• Contribute and be part of a highly creative team, giving and receiving feedback
• Good understanding of both key framed and motion capture pipelines
• Experience in developing facial rigs and pipelines a bonus
• Absolute passion for playing and making the industry’s best videogames

Portfolio:
• Strong reel demonstrating tools and a concise and practical character rig
