scientists in the uk claim to have discovered a simple equation for solving ponytail simulation. would be interesting to see this in practice in rigging. might also have application with other kinds of appendages in animation… tails, straps, etc
I double checked and my calender does not say April 1st. So this must be real.
Can’t wait to see the ‘surprisingly simple math’.
After reading this paper, I came to the conclusion that the answer is 42… no but really, the math was anything but simple from what I saw.
