This just started happening about 10 minutes ago after I synced a certain directory (there are no scripts or batch files or executables in the directory I synced, just .MAs and textures and a mel preferences file).
If I go into P4V and sync a .ma file, P4V becomes unresponsive and both Render.exe and mayabatch.exe are started and visible in the task manager. Once render/mayabatch finishes, P4V becomes responsive again.
If I sync via the command line, render.exe is not launched. In P4V, if I then go to the file I just synced and “Refresh …”, render.exe gets launched again.
This only happens with .ma files, nothing else triggers it (don’t know about .mb since we don’t have any). Is there some file association issue here where P4V is checking these maya files using Render.exe? Any ideas?
It’s not just syncing/refreshing apparently. In P4V, if I click on a folder that has a synced .ma file in it, render.exe starts up.
