[LEFT]Obsidian Entertainment is looking for talented, self motivated Senior Technical Artist to join our growing team of RPG developers.

The Senior Technical Artist position requires a solid understanding of cutting-edge tools and pipelines for PlayStation3 and Xbox 360 game development.

Requirements:

High proficiency with ZBrush, Photoshop, and at least one major 3D software package (Max, Maya or XSI)
Experience scripting within 3D software packages
Excellent high and low poly modeling skills
Quick learner of new tools and techniques
Resourceful and creative problem solver
Strong foundation in traditional art
Strong knowledge of architecture, materials and lighting
Solid grasp of color theory
Ability to communicate effectively between design, art and programming
Ability to work with technology programmers to develop new art pipelines for current and future needs
Experience developing best practices and mentoring artists
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
3+ years in the game industry with at least 2 shipped titles
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in art-related studies
A passion for gaming
Experience with industry standard level editors a plus (UnrealEd, Sandbox, G.E.C.K)

Responsibilities:

Participate in the design and development of art and design tools, techniques and pipelines
Identify inefficiencies and problems in existing pipelines and propose solutions
Improve and enhance artist workflow throughout the project development cycle
Validate art content against technical guidelines and best practices
Mentor artists on new tools, techniques, and best practices
Assist programmers and designers in researching and developing new game features

Portfolio Requirements:

A web portfolio that demonstrates a range of high quality 3D and 2D art
Samples, demonstrations or documentation of tools pipelines developed to overcome past challenges
Samples from previous industry work[/LEFT]
