Obsidian Entertainment is looking for talented Senior Technical Artist

Obsidian Entertainment is looking for talented, self-motivated Senior Technical Artist to join our growing team of RPG developers. The Senior Technical Artist position requires a solid understanding of cutting-edge tools and pipelines for PlayStation3 and Xbox 360 game development.

Requirements:
• High proficiency with ZBrush, Photoshop, and at least one major 3D software package (Max, Maya or XSI)
• Experience scripting within 3D software packages
• Excellent high and low poly modeling skills
• Quick learner of new tools and techniques
• Resourceful and creative problem solver
• Strong foundation in traditional art
• Strong knowledge of architecture, materials and lighting
• Solid grasp of color theory
• Ability to communicate effectively between design, art and programming
• Ability to work with technology programmers to develop new art pipelines for current and future needs
• Experience developing best practices and mentoring artists
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• 3+ years in the game industry with at least 2 shipped titles
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in art-related studies
• A passion for gaming
• Experience with industry standard level editors a plus (UnrealEd, Sandbox, G.E.C.K)

Responsibilities:
• Participate in the design and development of art and design tools, techniques and pipelines
• Identify inefficiencies and problems in existing pipelines and propose solutions
• Improve and enhance artist workflow throughout the project development cycle
• Validate art content against technical guidelines and best practices
• Mentor artists on new tools, techniques, and best practices
• Assist programmers and designers in researching and developing new game features

Portfolio Requirements:
• A web portfolio that demonstrates a range of high quality 3D and 2D art
• Samples, demonstrations or documentation of tools pipelines developed to overcome past challenges
• Samples of previous industry work
