Description
Nickelodeon Animation Studios is currently looking for a Technical Director for the Burbank facility. The position will help develop tools for award winning TV series like ‘The Penguins of Madagascar’ and ‘Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness’. These tools will function both in-house and out-of-house, covering the following areas:
In-house pipeline
Production management
Asset management
The tasks include:
Design, implementation, and maintenance of pipeline and production support tools, such as I/O tools, asset and task management systems
Extend and maintain existing tools
Propose, design, implement, test, and support extensions to animation and compositing systems
Help research and develop tools and technologies to enhance all areas of 3D production
Research new technologies and design ways to add them to the existing pipeline
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field
Proficient in C++, C#, Python
An understanding of 3D computer graphics theory and practice
Candidates must have 1-2 years of tool programming experience and be able to code in a team environment.
A strong knowledge of C++, C#, .Net, and Python is a must, along with database experience.
Strong problem-solving skills
Must have a strong attention to detail and quality
Able to communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical personnel
Must be able to work alone and collaboratively, often with multiple tasks and under deadlines
Open to direction and able to embrace change
Desired Skills:
Experience in CG animation production for television, film, games or visual effects
CG-related packages and API’s, especially in regards to Maya, Fusion, and Photoshop
Familiarity with FileMaker, LINQ, PyQT, WPF and Silverlight
