Aderyn’s Cradle (working title), an open-world fantasy adventure.
My name is Hank Zwally, and I am the founder and lead game designer at Mojo Game Studios. My team and I are looking for talented artists who would like to join us in making an immersive RPG game that boasts compelling gameplay and an emotional narrative.
Our Beliefs
[ul]Video games are the future. The videogame medium is ripe for a new direction, and we want this game to help that movement.[/ul]
[ul]An experience, not a toy. The best kind of gaming experience is a seamless mix of excellent gameplay within an immersive emotional and environmental context. It not only transports players into fantastic game situations, but is also thought-provoking.[/ul]
[ul]Gamers making games. The best games come from people who love games and play games, not from big companies who want to rake in cash.[/ul]
Our Priorities
[ul]Gameplay. Our gameplay design is truly unprecedented. It provides fluid movement and combat unlike any game before, so that the character’s actions match player’s intent. We’re making first-person melee a thing that works. It’s fast paced, skill-based, strategic, and most importantly, very intuitive. Not hack-n’-slash. The good stuff.[/ul]
[ul]Truly Immersive Environments. Aderyn’s Cradle consists of four open worlds, which are designed to push the envelope of the fantasy genre, while simultaneously grounding it in the unprecedented realism CryEngine 3 can offer. One of our high priorities is to make a universe with a clear history and future, which means that we’re paying heavy attention to detail. The environment itself should in itself act as a character in the player’s game experience.[/ul]
[ul]Story with a purpose. Our story binds both the environment and gameplay with a rich context. Aderyn’s Cradle has a powerful message that is open for interpretation, which is going to make it one of those games that pushes what the videogame medium can do on an emotional and artistic level. It deals with humanity’s relationship to both nature and religion, showing the positive and negative aspects of these fundamental human issues.[/ul]
Our Team
[ul]We are an independent game studio based in Pittsburgh, with many team members globally distributed.[/ul]
[ul]We are a growing team of 30 designers, artists, programmers, and more, with world class talent committed to creating a game that reflects our vision.[/ul]
[ul]We are currently looking to expand our team. We want to immediately add several more environment artists, character artists, and texturers. If you are a technical artist, animator, FX artist, rigger, concept artist, or something else, we’d love to speak with you as well.[/ul]
