Anyone use Modo here, in production? Or in general? Is it in the realm of (MAX, Maya, XSI), as far as what its intended use and functions are? Or something else entirely?
If you’re willing to overcome the technical hurdles associated with using Modo outside your primary art package, Modo is an excellent polygonal modeling tool. It is written by the original authors of Lightwave, and much of its interface paradigm is derived from this lineage. I only know of a few people who are willing to jump through the hoops required to use it in production, but from what I’ve seen, there are some pretty large productivity gains to be had from it if you’re willing to commit. Modo/Lightwave feel like you are playing a first person shooter in the way your hands work the keyboard and mouse. By comparison, other packages are pretty darn clunky.
