Senior Technical Artist
We are looking for a Senior Technical Artist to come and join our art team at Media Molecule. Media Molecule is known for innovation within creative gaming.
The person we’re looking for might have familiarity with shader languages like HLSL, GLSL or graph-based shader editing; perhaps you’ve worked with advanced animation rigs, facial animation, or capture; or perhaps you’ve experimented with physically based shading and know your BSSRDFs from your BRDFs; or maybe you’ve extracted beautiful, tasteful images from simple technology. You wouldn’t be afraid to alternate between a purely visual, aesthetic discussion, and a deep technical conversation about implementing whatever is necessary to achieve your, and our, vision
We are creating games exclusively for PlayStation and so experience using a variety of 3d packages, and having an understanding of the requirements of shipping console games is a must.
In addition to relevant experience the successful person must have;
• A breadth of artistic styles
• An ability to think in 3D
• Drawings/sketches that display their skills as well as any modeling and texture work.
• Excellent sense of form, weight (mass), and volume
• Good use of light and shadow
• An understanding of optimization
• Excellent sense of scale and level of finish
• A background in architecture is an advantage.
We will only consider candidates who are able to provide an up to date show reel and have more than 3 years experience working within a games team in this or a similar role.
