Maya HighQuality objects are black

So in Maya 2013.5, if you use the high quality renderer with a material that has a normal map applied, you’ll just see all black. Has anyone found a workaround for this? Seems like a pretty easy bug to find.

How do i attach images at full resolution?

I do not know how this slipped through the cracks in 2013.5, but it did.
VP 2 does not have the problem.

It was fixed for 2014 for HQ viewport.
