We are trying to incoperate Maya’s geo cache feature in our pipeline. The project we are working on is based on talking vehicles (cars kinda). So its full off nuts and bolts. which in our rigs are most of the time constrained, now as fas as i know we cant cache out constrained object or objects which has there transform node animated.
A friend of mine (Max guy) showed me WorldPos point cache system in max which caches out geo (same autodesk cahce format with xml and .mc files).
So if any of you guys are aware that if its possible to do the same in maya through APi(i checked mel command for geocache and had no luck over there) or by any other means.
Meanwhile we are using bakeAnimation on any object who is constrained or there transform node animated (geo only)…
anyone would like to share how they work with cache??
