We are looking for an experienced Technical Artist for next generation console game development. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 to 3 years experience in the game industry. This candidate should have a strong working knowledge of scripting in a 3D package as well as a broad understanding of the technical issues spanning both engineering and art issues. A well-rounded, multi-skilled background is essential with both technical and artistic capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work with Art director and principle members of team to help establish, define, and manage content creation pipelines.Evaluate and initiate procedures and practices to optimize production and workflow.Resolve technical problems and challenges in pre-planning phase, and as they arise throughout production.Create and maintain technical art pipeline documentation.Master custom toolsets, and the confines of real-time engine constraints.
Required:
3 to 5 years of technical art design and implementation experience. Experience in writing or configuring realtime shaders (SSS, etc). Experience in writing complex scripts in a major 3D packageBroad understanding of technical issues between engineering and art.Possesses a good art sense (e.g. knowledge of composition, color, 3d modeling and painting)Experience with Next Gen texture concepts such as normal maps and ambient occlusion.
Preferences:
C++ programming experience Extensive experience with rig development and problem solving. Experience with Havok debugging. Has experience with and a good working knowledge of the limitations and expectations of next gen hardware.Proven experience creating art assets for next gen platforms (normal maps, etc.)Experience creating and configuring assets for in game particle FX.
