Kabam San Francisco looking for VFX artist

My current team at Kabam is seeking a VFX artist, preferably someone who has at least three years of experience in VFX and has shipped a couple of titles. The project will be Unity based and is looking like it will be a fun one.

The Studio is based in San Francisco, and the position would require someone who can work in office. We have catered lunches. You like lunch don’t you?

Team:

You would work directly with Art, Engineering, Sound, and Product leads in an open table seating environment that encourages daily updates, teamwork, and data driven decision making. This working structure fosters an environment where team members get to know each other very well because the success of the entire project relies on a group effort.

Day to Day:

Work closely with game designers, engineers, artists, and leads to create great game moments through AAA quality VFX.
Model, texture, light and animate VFX assets to design & Director’s specifications.
Work closely with engineers and leads to establish and troubleshoot art pipelines as needed.
Meticulous, organized approach to creating technically efficient and visually compelling VFX assets.
Use visual editing tools to create, place, and trigger effects.
Conceptualize and animate stylized particle effects for fire, explosions, smoke, moving water, sparks, dust, clouds, exhaust, weather, etc.
Career Progression:

The candidate who excels in this position will handle increased responsibilities and have the opportunity to provide their expertise on future titles.

Requirements:

3+ years minimum experience in the game industry with at least two shipped titles as a VFX artist on either console or mobile platforms.
Experienced user of Photoshop, Maya, 3D Studio Max and Adobe After Effects.
Expert in creating high-quality particle effects and textures.
A portfolio showcasing high-quality effects reel and examples of high resolution effect textures.
The ability to view visual reference of an effect, deconstruct it and subsequently re-create it in a real-time game engine is essential.
Strong knowledge of environmental effects, lighting and dynamics.
High proficiency in technical problem solving.
Knowledge of Unity and C#/Unity Script.
Experience in writing scripts/plugins in MEL, C#, Python, and Javascript for Maya and Photoshop.
Experience in creating real time shaders and post effects.
