Hey Folks,
My group at Intel, Perceptual Computing is looking for a Tech Art-llike person to join our Lab Team. I’ve attached the official description and link below, but here’s the straight, uncut version:
US: We build applications and prototypes using Unity3d, processing, cinder, openframeworks, xna, and whatever other languages or frameworks we feel like rolling our own support for. Long term, our goal is to enable other groups at Intel to build OS level support for gesture, touch, speech recognition, and other “Perceptual Technologies”. We also support the corporate marketing groups for events like CES, Mobile World Congress, and GDC (but it’s nowhere near as bad as an E3 crunch ).
You: Experienced with C++, C#, Python, Java, Javascript or just about any other programming language. We don’t need you to be an expert at any of these, we just need you to know how to code. You’ve also done some content creation and are versed enough that you could create a somewhat polished demo or prototype from end-to-end (content and implementation). Experience with processing, ofx, or Cinder is preferred but not at all required. Desire to change the way we interact with technology is definitely required.
Since we’re a small team, often times we’re given individual ownership of a project or prototype. Because of that, we have some specific application requirements:
- Demo Reel
- Demo application using any sort of depth/3d cam based interaction. This doesn’t have to be a huge/full game or app, just a small thing that shows us you can build a full project and to get you thinking in the space. We use the tools listed below in the Lab, but you’re not limited to or required to use any of these.
Kinect, OpenNI, Perceptual Computing SDK, Beckon, OpenCV/SimpleCV, kivy, libavg, processing, openframeworks, and of course, my favorite, Cinder
If this sounds like something your interested in, you can send me your resume and samples directly, or if you have questions, you can email me at: seth.gibson@intel.com
Feel free to PM me as well, while I don’t post that often anymore, I check the board everyday, so I’m definitely around.
Allez!
