Hotels or hostels near Siggraph

Hi everyone.
Does anyone know any affordable hotel/hostel that is close to the Convention Center?

I’ll be in Vancouver for 3 nights. Need a place to stay, but within my student budjet :slight_smile:

I found a few hostels with $60/night rates, but I’m worried about getting a shady place. Please help me out if you know the area.

have a look at http://www.airbnb.com have had good luck with that in the past for less-hotel-ey places.

Avoid any hotel within a few blocks of Main and East Hastings.

I don’t know prices, and these aren’t likely student budgety, but a few cheaper places that are not too far from Siggraph would be the Sandman hotel on Davie,

The Howard Johnson Hotel on Granville

or the Coast hotel on E Hastings. (this is not near main … :)). (I think this place has an online rate of $110 a night.

I went on airbnb and got a room near by the Convention center. Just waiting for the lady to reply.
I was looking at some apartments and their owners… some of them are kinda scary.
I kept on imagining some crazy person slicing my throat while I’m sleeping.
Hope I’m not gonna be in the news :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually, I have experience this situation. I went there last year and tried to find hostel but
couldn’t find some affordable stuff. But this is about one year before. May be now there are
available some of them.
