TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT ARTIST

REALTIME WORLDS - creators of the no.1 hit game CRACKDOWN, are looking for a Technical Environment Artist to join the art team on their latest, cutting-edge, AAA project - APB. This role will focus on High quality asset creation and detailing of contemporary city environments for a next-gen MMO.

Responsibilities:

[li]Work with Lead Artist and Technical Environment art team to deliver High quality assets, Environment detailing and support environment pipeline efficiency.
[/li][li]Responsible for the creation and implementation of High Quality Environment assets to the project’s specifications.
[/li][li]Will work with the Lead Technical Artist to maintain project specific budgets for the environment assets.
[/li][li]Take responsibility for producing own work to a high standard and to any agreed schedules.
[/li][li]Be able to provide technical support and guidance to other Environment team members when required.
[/li][li]Present ideas and artwork in such a way as to communicate ideas clearly, explaining artistic and technical issues. Qualifications Required
[/li][li]Degree or diploma from Art College in Games Development, Fine Art, Design or Art related course.
[/li][/ul]
Experience Required:

[ul]
[li]At least 3 years’ experience in creating environment assets in the industry.
[/li][li]Experience of a full production cycle, from beginning to end, on at least 1 published game.
[/li][li]Some prior experience developing, improving and maintaining art pipelines
[/li][/ul]

Knowledge/Skills Required:

[ul]
[li]Exceptional modelling and texture skills at a high level of quality both at high and low resolutions for games.
[/li][li]Experience working with multi-pass shader effects (diffuse maps, specular maps, bump maps, normal maps, etc).
[/li][li]Excellent knowledge of 3D modelling software - 3DS Max or equivalent.
[/li][li]Excellent knowledge of 2D software - Photoshop or equivalent.
[/li][li]A strong knowledge and ability to work to specific budgetary requirements and develop ways to achieve the best results within those limits.
[/li][li]Max Script knowledge.
[/li][li]3+ years experience in modelling and texturing environments using 3DS Max and Photoshop (or equivalent 3D and 2D programs).
[/li][li]Must have good people skills and have the ability to excel in a creative and positive manner with the rest of the team.
[/li][li]Experience with Unreal 3 development is a benefit.
[/li][li]Excellent organizational skills and the ability to self manage and meet deadlines.
[/li][li]Solid traditional art skills are a benefit.
[/li][/ul]
