Job Description

REALTIME WORLDS – creators of the no.1 hit game CRACKDOWN, are looking for a Lead Animator to join our team on our next ground breaking title, the MMOG, APB: www.apb.com

Responsibilities:

[li]Realising the Art Vision in APB through the aesthetic and technical standards of the animation
[/li][li]Oversees the work of the Animation Team on a daily basis, communicating the art direction and giving constructive feedback
[/li][li]Making sure that the animations are visually and functionally consistent with the rest of the game visuals
[/li][li]Understands and communicates a strong knowledge of innovative game production technologies and techniques
[/li][li]Responsible for the productivity of the APB Animation Team and the functionality and quality of all assets produced by them
[/li][/ul]
[ul]
[li]Must work with the technical team to develop the technology and systems design for animation related tools and systems
[/li][li]Responsible for recruiting, scheduling and managing the APB Animation Team
[/li][li]Supervises regular team meetings
[/li][li]Works with the Lead Artist in the planning, organisation, scheduling and management of any third party animation pipeline - such as motion capture
[/li][li]Support and report to the Lead Artist regarding all above responsibilities
[/li][/ul].

Experience Required:

[ul]
[li]At least 5 years experience in the industry (preferred, but slightly less experience will be acceptable)
[/li][li]At least 2 years experience as a Senior Animator
[/li][li]At least 2 published games under belt
[/li][li]Experience as a Developer for more than one platform would be desirable but not a must
[/li][li]At least 4 years experience with industry standard 2-D package (e.g. Photoshop)
[/li][li]At least 4 years experience with industry standard 3-D (3D Studio Max and Character Studio preferable but Maya acceptable)
[/li][/ul]

Knowledge/Skills Required:

[ul]
[li]Must have excellent understanding of the processes of concepts, design, modelling, texturing and animation in games, preferably for multiple platforms
[/li][li]Must be excellent problem solver with a very good understanding of the latest game processes and art techniques
[/li][li]Must be a good communicator both internally with entire team and externally with publishers and other departments, etc
[/li][li]Must be able to adapt to the style, techniques, continuity and quality of artwork as set by the Lead Artist
[/li][li]Must be highly organised and be capable of producing and maintaining accurate project schedules
[/li][li]Must be pro-active in the solving of art-related problems for the game
[/li][li]Must be highly motivated and able to motivate other individuals
[/li][li]Must be able to work well within a team
[/li][li]Should Ideally have an active interest in video games
[/li][/ul]
