GDC 2010 - tech art get together

Hey gentlemen, (I’m quite sure there ain’t no women here right?! :)

GDC is still a bit away, but getting closer.

I think it would be cool to plan a ‘night out’ with the tech art geeks.
A few beers and talking about tech art stuff, what can be more fun?!

(next to Jeff Hanna’s tech art round table during the day)

Lets see if we can organize something!
Who is interested?

Count me in! What better way to end a day of geeking out with tech heads than to geek out some more with the tech heads. :stuck_out_tongue:

Bronwen and Kritter are probably going to smack you for saying there aren’t any women. You’d be surprised! I’m really looking forward to Bronwen’s talk btw.

definitely interested, and definitely a woman ^.~ When and where?

I’m not exactly a tech artist yet, but I will be there as a volunteer for GDC!

So I hope I can meet some of you guys there! I know I plan on getting together with Jeff Hanna!

Haha! Thanks Ben  - I’m not sure I’m going to make it up this year, but Jill will and she is awesome! She is my teams Rigger  - though she is nicer than me so Kees won’t have to worry too much about being smacked for now…

Hello! I am Jill. I am a lady person and tech artist. I am occasionally mistaken for Kritter. I will be at GDC and I bathe regularly.

I thought Jeff’s roundtable usually WAS the drunken debauchery event? I kid, but I’m definitely in, i imagine i’ll be onsite all week, so I’m flexible.

My apologies to the women!
I guess i already owe you a drink now

anyone have a preference for day and place?
I guess we want a bar where conversation is somewhat possible because yelling about the skin modifier is not fun

We could always meet up for booth crawl, walk the floor en force, then head out afterwards. Not sure when booth crawl is this year, but nothing wrong with a little pre-funk.

I’m in.

I’ll keep a look out for you guys. I’m always interested in meeting more tech geeks!

I’m still not sure if I’ll be able to make it, but if I do then I’d be there for this shindig.

That sounds best… unless anyone lives in San Francisco and is familiar with bar noise levels. That’s a level of research that’s a little beyond my internet capacity…

Might also depend on everyone’s transportation situation. I definitely have my list of favorite SF haunts, but not too many of them are near Moscone

We should all also hook up at the W tues/wed/thurs/whenever it’s happening.

ooooh, I want to go!

Shall we have a default backup meetup in case other plans fall through? At . . . say . . . Autodesk booth at start of boothCrawl? Look for the extra geeky geeks there?

I’ll definitely be there in addition to most all the tech art talks. Hopefully there’s a nice bar we could lounge at that isn’t scheduled the same time as the Polycount meetup or any major after parties…

I’m totally in, despite originally not being invited KEES. Yeesh. I’ll forgive you but only if you come to my talk.

Annie, Jill. High fives. And that is all the smacking I feel like doing.
