General Description:
As character TD – rigging lead, you will be responsible for the creation of high quality character and facial rigs and for the creation of animation tools written in Python and MEL. More specifically you will be responsible for:

[li]Rigging, skinning and deformations using Maya’s animation tools;
[/li][li]Delivering 3D character rigs that meet the visual, creative and technical standards of the production;
[/li][li]Scripting and debugging animation and pipeline tools in Python, PyMEL and Mel;
[/li][li]Contribute effectively within project/technological constraints while creating characters in a variety of artistic styles;
[/li][li]Take initiative to resolve art pipeline issues by researching, identifying and implementing solutions designed to streamline the art process and enhance productivity within the studio;
[/li][li]Collaborate closely with other riggers, animators, leads and supervisors;
[/li][li]Meet the project deadlines/milestones set by the production department;
[/li][li]Participate actively in team/department meetings;
[/li][li]Participate in art review sessions to achieve an overall high artistic quality;
[/li][li]Mentor and train others in your areas of expertise;
[/li][li]Additional duties as required;
[/li][li]You could be entrusted with punctual training tasks (skill sharing) within Frima’s Continuing Education Program.

Requirements:
[ul]
[li]A minimum of 3 years of experience in the production of animated films (or similar);
[/li][li]Knowledge of Python (or PyMEL). (Knowledge of MEL, math and C++ is an asset.)
[/li][li]Working knowledge of skeletal and deformation systems, and of the principles of character motion;
[/li][li]Ability to set priorities, work independently or within a group, and proceed with objectives without supervision;
[/li][li]A genuine interest in the character rigging process is essential;
[/li][li]Self-starter with the ability to complete entire shots alone or with a team;
[/li][/ul]
