Embedding 3D Content in these forums

I am a part of the team behind OurBricks which lets you share and interact with 3D content right in the browser. Once the content is uploaded you can enable a forum to allow for the models to be embedded. Here is an example of what this looks like:

I have been talking to the admin behind this forum about enabling this and we agreed that we wanted to gauge what you the users thought of this.

So please let us know if you think we should move forward with this?

Henrik

Anyone think this could be of use? Or where in the 3D/game community this could be useful? I told Henrik to post because I thought we could give some feedback, I’d love to know what people think about it.

Having spent a fair amount of time on my portfolio website (<shamelessPlug>ericNevans.com</shamelessPlug>) of late, the application that first jumped to mind was that of using the tech as a means to showcase my portfolio content online. Of course at the moment, it seems that only the most up-to-date versions of Chrome and FireFox support the WebGL standard.

Yea, it could be cool…I saw one guy trying to make one on polycount out of unity…

I think thats pretty awesome. Sure beats still renders especially for WIPs. I’m digging the animation support too.

Glad to see there is interest. Will circle back with the admin.

couldn’t get the example to work.

First concern whenever trying new 3d is whether or not common alt mb viewport navigation is adopted.
Usually goes along way for me not having to short cricuit when navigating
( fer instance am loving zswitcher fer zbrush )
