We’re looking for an exceptionally skilled 3D FX artist to join our talented team of artists, designers, and programmers, here in sunny south Florida. The ideal candidate has extensive experience creating real-time, as well as pre-rendered FX. The 3D FX artist is able to research, conceptualize, and animate natural and fantastical effects, all for real-time use. This person must be driven to create compelling effects and have the ability to optimize effects to achieve the highest visual quality.

Responsibilities:
• Visualize, create and implement real-time dynamic and atmospheric effects for both in-game and cinematic application
• Create effects that conform to the technical guidelines of the target platform
• Seek and provide feedback and communication with his peers and leads as a part of a collaborative artistic environment
• Be self-motivated to consistently meet project, team, and personal deadlines/milestones
• Advanced problem solving techniques and patience to resolve the numerous hurdles that present themselves while working to achieve the highest quality effects
• The self-sustained ability to take on a problem and run with it until completion
• Other duties may be assigned

Requirements:
• A minimum of 3 years in-game development as a an FX artist or equivalent experience
• Experience developing high-end particle systems and visual effects
• Strong technical knowledge and artistic abilities working with sprite type particles and materials within Unreal, as well as how to optimize for the PlayStation 3 hardware
• Strong expertise in Maya/3dsMax/Photoshop/Unreal
• A passion for video games

Desired Skills:
• Strong ability to model and texture hard surface / rigid objects within a range of styles (painterly to realistic)
• Background in painting, concept art, or technical animation
• Previously shipped a AAA PC or console title
• Experience with the creation of next-gen shaders and materials
• Experience with MaxScript or Mel
