I guess I should give it a try here as well, even though I’m not a TA… Perhaps I’m lucky and someone can point me in the right direction. 
I started in the game industry as a voluntary moderator for Reakktor Media, the company behind the mmo Neocron. After a few months I ‘moved up’ to lead forum moderator/forum administrator. Besides taking care of the forum, I also helped out with customer support and some community management before they hired a full time CM.
I then moved on to Duplex Systems, the company which designed Face of Mankind. While I also started as voluntary forum moderator, I once again moved up to forum administrator and ended up working as Community Manager, a position I held for little over a year. It was a part time job I combined with a part time sales function in a computer store.
While I’m currently no longer working in the game sector, I’m still trying to find a job there again, as my current job really doesn’t give me the satisfaction I had as CM.
