Codemasters are Looking For Technical Artists

Codemasters, creators of the Bafta Award winning Race Driver: Grid, the Colin McCrae Series including the critically acclaimed Dirt 2, and recently announced Dirt 3, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising and the highly anticipated first person shooter Bodycount. is looking for a talented Technical Artist to join our highly skilled art team to provide technical art support to all art disciplines within our internal Art Studio. This position will be based in the UK at our Southam HQ.

Responsibilities:
• Develop art pipelines, techniques, and workflows – by liaising with the art and programming teams.
• Use knowledge and experience to identify and mitigate problems in advance of them affecting development teams.
• Develop the game’s look and feel through the use of shaders.
• Communicate solutions to art and programming teams.
• Implement new techniques that increase art quality and efficiency across disciplines

Required Qualifications:
• Industry experience as a technical artist with credits on several shipped titles.
• Proficient with 3ds MAX, MaxScript and Photoshop.
• Experience with HLSL shader language.
• Working knowledge and experience with other scripted languages and c# a definite plus.
• Posses strong creative problem solving skills.
• Able to clearly communicate with technical and non-technical team members.

Our Southam HQ is based in the centre of the UK in Warwickshire. We’re very close to the impressive regency town of Royal Leamington Spa but still only 40 minutes drive from Birmingham. Coventry, Oxford and only just over an hour to London.
