CCP Reykjavik is looking for a Technical Artist to bridge the gap between the Effects Artists and Engineering groups. Using both in-house technology and existing middleware, the technical artist will help construct and refine the Effects pipeline and provide tools to the Effects Artists to help speed up workflows and solve technical problems.
Responsibilities include:
- Coding support of in-house Effects pipeline
- Work closely with Shader programmers and Systems engineers to support changes to Effects rigs, supporting assets, and associated game systems.
Required Experience/Background/Skills:
- Experience with particle systems
- Strong scripting skills (Mel, Python, HLSL)
- Experience with Maya, polygonal modeling, rendering and animation
- Familiarity with modern Effects techniques
- Precision and attention to detail in creating tools with an understanding of workflow optimization
- Must have worked on at least one AAA title as a Technical Artists or Effects Artist
- Experience writing particle system in C++ and dx9\dx10 shaders can be a plus.

- Please provide a reel with effects examples and coding samples from previous tool development.
- Please be prepared to take a basic Tech Art evaluation exam.
