Blur's Python for 3ds Max

Blur’s released a native implementation of Python for 3ds Max:

I haven’t tried it yet, but sounds pretty slick.

This looks super exciting. Hopefully it will generate a lot of interesting experiments.

Just read it on a blog. Awesome

Hey, guys, any luck getting the plugin loaded in Max on Windows 7 Pro. x64? I can’t seem to get it working after upgrading from Vista x64, which used to work fine.

What version of max are you trying to load it on?

It’s the same as under Vista, 3ds Max 2009. Except for Python, which is more recent, 2.6.4, but I don’t get DLL errors, only the plugin doesn’t load up in Max.

I just installed it on my virtual Windows XP 64bit machine and all works just fine, so I assume it must be something in W7 then. :frowning:

But I have no clue what?!

From reading the threads on CGTalk, Vista x64 isn’t supported. The same is probably true for Win7 x64.

Sadface.

As I stated before, under Vista x64 it worked absolutely without problems! It seems to be working now under Windows 7 as well, apart from the fact that the plugin (.dlx) doesn’t load up in Max 2009 x64. The rest seems to be fine.

Hmm, then I’m doing something else wrong. I can’t get it to run on my Vista x64 system at all. The CG Talk thread made it seem like Vista 64 was out of the fun, but I’m now going to have to spend more time looking at it and trying it to get it working

My only problem on Vista x64 was that the blur libs didn’t install properly. I had to extract the installer (in a virtual Win XP x64 machine) and manually copy them to the proper location.

And then it was just about including the blurPython26.dlx in the correct plugin.ini

That was it in my case. Then it started working nicely.
