Technical Artist, New York
Avalanche Studios is currently looking for a Technical Artist to work on the development of high-profile projects for PS3 and Xbox 360. The ideal candidate feels comfortable in a team environment and is able to contribute on many levels like research, modeling, texturing and effects. You will work with the Art Director to help manage, research and evolve the art content creation pipelines and act as a liaison between the artists and programmers.
The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated individual who is good at communicating and working within cross-discipline teams. You work with a team of talented and experienced game developers, who have worked on numerous best-selling and critically acclaimed titles.
Required qualifications
* Some years experience in the game and/or film industry * Expert knowledge of Maya * Strong knowledge of current 3D graphics techniques * Strong knowledge of particle systems, environmental effects, cloth simulations, lighting, and dynamics * High proficiency in technical problem solving * Scripting experience (Mel or Python) * Basic knowledge in programming * Used to working independently within a group
Desired qualifications
* Shipped game titles as Technical Artist * Experience working with and knowledge of PS3 and X360 hardware * Rigging/IK setup experience * Photoshop, Zbrush or Mudbox knowledge
